Spectra Venue Management, operators of the Tribute Communities Centre, is excited to announce the sixth annual Touch-a-Truck event presented by Campkin's RV Centre on Friday, August 24th, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham. This free community event will be hosted outside and around the Tribute Communities Centre and is a fun, hands on event that allows children of all ages to get up close and personal with more than 40 vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Children will love the interactive displays and the opportunity to learn about the vehicles from the drivers.
The event gives attendees an interactive experience with vehicles of all types and sizes supplied by vehicle partners, such as the City of Oshawa, Durham Region, Hard-Co Construction Ltd., Motor City Crane, and many more
"It’s hard to believe that we’re rolling into the sixth year of this Touch-a-Truck event. The feedback has been consistent each year from the families that attend, they absolutely love this event and look forward to returning the following year," stated William Balfour, Assistant General Manager and Director of Marketing & Group Sales for Spectra. "Since the launch of the event in 2013, the community has raised more than $9,200 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham which would not be possible without the level of support provided by our community partners. There are numerous companies that have been participating since the first event and without them, this event would not be possible to fire on all cylinders and we thank them for their participation and support in this event throughout the years.”
Although the event is free for the community to attend, Spectra encourages all attendees to donate what they can afford to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham during the event at the Big Brothers Big Sisters booth located by the BBQ area. This year’s event will again satisfy attendee’s taste buds as our Spectra team fires up the grill to provide a charity BBQ for attendees.
