TITLE: DCAHL Convenor

DETAILS:

The Durham Central Adult Hockey League is now accepting League Convenor applications for the 2018 Season.

Reporting to the Manager of Ice Sales and Programming, the convenor is responsible for ensuring the DCAHL runs smoothly and efficiently.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Verify and hand out game sign-in sheets to team representatives
  • Verify and handout game sheets to timekeepers.
  • Collect all completed game sheets and sign in forms at the end of each game
  • Ongoing communication with team representatives/players
  • Enforces City of Oshawa rules and polices including the alcohol/smoking polices
  • Ensure referees arrive for shifts; contact referees in case of absences
  • Pay referees each night
  • Watch games and contribute point of view regarding on and off-ice incidents
  • Collect referee reports for all accidents/incidents and make notes if necessary
  • Ensure timekeepers arrive for shifts; contacts timekeepers in case of absences
  • Assist timekeeper as necessary
  • Complete weekly statistics including players stats and team standings
  • Provide input with regard to player suspensions
  • Follow up with team payments/balances each week to ensure teams adhere to the payment policies
  • Assist with scheduling and divisional alignments
  • Assist with town hall meetings
  • Required to complete incidents/accident reports for any injury during league play
  • Required to know league rules and make interpretations as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must possess and keep current Standard First Aid/CPR ‘C’ qualifications
  • Provide a current (within six months) Criminal Information Request prior to employment start date                       
  • Demonstrate good customer service and communication skills to deal effectively and courteously with staff and the general public; good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  •  Ability to work under pressure
  • Familiar with the rules of hockey (experience as a player, coach, or referee in an organized hockey league is an asset)

Position Overview:

As a valuable member of the Housekeeping team, you will deliver championship service throughout the organization.  Under the direction of the Operations Manager & Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of the Facility and its grounds.  This is an hourly based position and shifts are on a per event/as needed basis.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all common areas, meeting rooms and dressing rooms within the facility
  • Ability to read, understand and follow all WHMIS guidelines
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently during and after Events, exceeding the clients cleaning needs
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are clean and organized at all times

Security Personnel Team Member - Part Time

  • Respond to all security needs and call for services; secure areas of facility for escalated emergency response, if necessary
