Facility Operator (Operations)

TITLE:  Facility Operator
REPORTS TO:  Director of Operations, Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager
DEPARTMENT:  Operations

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate ice resurfacer and all related assigned duties necessary for the safe operation – blade changes, oil changes and daily greasing schedules
  • Maintain a professional level of ice quality with daily assigned maintenance
  • Assist in directing all part-time staffing including the delegation of daily duties
  • Understand and maintain records and logbook entries related to the refrigeration plant and other life safeties equipment
  • Climb stairs and be able to lift 50-75lbs unaided
  • Responsible for opening and closing the facility – including arming, disarming and security checks
  • Good knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Basic knowledge of building repairs/maintenance such as plumbing, drywall, picture installs, bulb changes, etc…
  • Comprehend and communicate clear instructions for event set ups
  • Lead small crews setting up for events using folding chairs, staging, drapery, stacking chairs and tables of various shapes and sizes
  • Perform daily cleaning requirements/projects and able to communicate proper cleaning procedures to employees
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and facility users.
  • Must express a willingness to learn and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Handle multiple tasks at one time and meet strict deadlines
  • Possess superior interpersonal and communication skills in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including between the hours of 6am-3am, overnight, weekends and holidays.
  • Adhere to all Spectra Venue Management service standards and policies including Health & Safety
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or the Assistant Operations Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, Arena Refrigeration systems and BAS controls
  • Previous experience operating an ice resurfacer and use of all ice equipment & tools
  • Basic computer knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word
  • TSSA Class B refrigeration certificate is desired
  • Any post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
  • C.I.T Certification through the ORFA is desired
  • Fork lift certification is an asset
  • First Aid & WHMIS trained

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.

Senior Kitchen Supervisor (Prospects Bar & Grill)

TITLE: Senior Kitchen Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef/ Director Food & Beverage
DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage​
STATUS: Part-Time

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • The Senior Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and day to day running of the Kitchen BOH (Back of House) operations. From hiring and training the kitchen team, ordering F&B supplies preparing food for service, maintaining a high level of food quality, and value to our guests and fans.
  • Oversee the daily operations of our establishment’s culinary department
  • Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders
  • Maintain and improve standards to provide total Guest satisfaction, ensuring they meet the high standards required including appearance, quality and temperature
  • Ensure that level of quality, portion control, and plate presentation is adhered to consistently
  • Keeping over production of food and waste to a minimum, ensuring proper rotation, labelling and storing of all food products
  • Read and follow recipes and menu specifications
  • Recruit and train kitchen employees in designated stations and help Schedule work shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure kitchen is clean, organized and all equipment is in good working order
  • Work alongside senior management for menu development on innovative new menu items and recipe creation

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years management experience in a comparable restaurant environment
  • Post-secondary education in culinary, hospitality and/or business related field a must
  • Culinary Red Seal designation Certification is strong asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of computers and restaurant inventory programs
  • Strong leadership and development skills
  • Proven ability to step in and provide guidance and support in order to exceed guest expectations
  • Food Handlers certification

Line Cook (Prospects Bar & Grill)

TITLE:  Line Cook
REPORTS TO:  Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Kitchen Supervisor

STATUS:  Part Time

                                     

JOB FUNTIONS:

  • Work in a fast, safe and efficient manner especially during service times so as to achieve consistently high food quality in a productive and cost effective environment
  • Comply with kitchen procedures, recipe and prep sheets, cleaning schedules and all other duties required to work in an efficient kitchen
  • Maintain efficient stock controlling methods for all kitchen-related products, specifically towards maintaining shelf  life, stock rotating to avoid wastage and spoilage
  • Maintain all food items at the approved temperature to prevent contamination or health risks
  • Serve all guests in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
  • Monitor and manage product quality, freshness and appearance
  • Follow Spectra Policies and Procedures including Health & Safety
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST be able to work flexible shifts (INCLUDING: evenings, weekends, and holidays)

Server / Bartender (Prospects Bar & Grill)

TITLE: Restaurant Server / Bartender

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet and assist guests at the restaurant, perform service checks to ensure quality of service and product.
  • Responsible for serving food products to guests in the venue during events.
  • Responsible for serving beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Responsible for recording a guest’s order and relaying the order to the kitchen via P.O.S. system or other.
  • Responsible for observing guests to respond to any additional requests.
  • Responsible for computing the cost of the meal and presenting the guest with the check. Accept payments and provide change as necessary.
  • Recommends certain menu items and identifies ingredients or explains how various items on the menu are prepared.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
  • Must be able to perform and complete tasks as required by the management team​

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 year’s experience as a server/bartender with experience working in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
  • Solid understanding and practical knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette

Host (Prospects Bar & Grill)

TITLE: Host

REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Supervisor

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for keeping the Host and entrance area clean.
  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile.
  • Manage table assignment and reservations including wait lists.
  • Ensuring a smooth flow and distribution of guest reservations.
  • Responsible to inform guests regarding waiting time.
  • Escort and seat guests to designated dining table according to their reservations.
  • Provide restaurant menus and daily specials to the guests.
  • Inform the servers when guests are seated in their designated areas.
  • Maintain proper stock in the Host area.
  • Provide support to the servers, bartenders and food runners when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the restaurant manager and/or supervisor.

Runner (Prospects Bar & Grill)

JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Assist bartenders and servers by delivering food and beverage orders to customer’s table rapidly and accurately.
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff.
  • Communicate food orders to kitchen staff while paying attention to priorities and special requests and food allergies.
  • Maintain orders according to each table and food ticket.
  • Ensure flawless service and quality assurance.
  • Monitor stock levels, cleanliness of service and prep areas.
  • Resolve order discrepancies quickly and effectively.

Supervisor (Quick Service)

TITLE:  Quick Service Supervisor
REPORTS TO:  Quick Service Manager
DEPARTMENT:  Food and Beverage​

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • The QS Supervisor will oversee a team of 10+ unionized employees
  • The QS Supervisor will oversee all areas within the Quick Service department: Concessions, Vending, In-seat and Catering
  • Coach and motivate staff during games, events and day to day operation
  • Strictly ensure responsible alcohol service using Smart Serve principles
  • Ensure AGCO, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Food Safety are followed as required
  • Supervise and direct the prompt, efficient and friendly serving of all Food and Beverage
  • Work quickly and independently to resolve operational issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow up with QS Manager and Food and Beverage Director
  • Assist in Control of inventory and Labor within all Quick Service department locations
  • Participate in all fields of administrative work including but not limited to: creating schedules, create par levels for concessions/warehouse, input employee payroll & submit according to deadline, menu development, opening/closing duties, cleaning checklists, tracking sales, and maintenance logs
  • Assist in planning for upcoming events
  • Monitor and manage speed of service and product quality
  • Assist in hiring, training and development of staff
  • Adhere to all Spectra service standards and policies
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Supervisor working in similar role within the hospitality industry
  • 2+ years of team leader and management experience
  • Smart Serve and Food Safety Certified
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and wine  
  • Solid understanding and practical knowledge of Quick Service business principles and service etiquette
  • A proactive approach toward daily activities and shifting demands
  • Experience working with Point of Sale System and Enterprise is an asset
  • An aptitude for identifying and assessing details
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven to perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities and areas simultaneously
