Security Team Member

TITLE: Security Personnel Team Member

REPORTS TO: Director of Events and Ice Programming & Event Services Manager

DEPARTMENT: Event Services

STATUS: Part-Time

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Respond to all security needs and call for services; secure areas of the facility for escalated emergency response, if necessary
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and employees
  • Greet all Fans in a welcoming and friendly manner
  • Conduct regular inspections of all patrol and fixed post assignments
  • Write reports; ensuring the accuracy of reported data and proper report presentation
  • Maintain a secure environment throughout Tribute Communities Centre at all times
  • Act as an ambassador for OVG360
  • Inform Fans of seat locations and provide assistance where needed
  • Retrieve and verify Fans’ tickets, as required
  • Direct Fans with special needs/requests to Fan Services
  • Support all departments with security or fan-related escalations as required
  • Restrict access to the parking lot as directed recognizing authorized passes and utilizing parking lists
  • Be able to move and carry parking barrier
  • Adhere to all OVG360 service standards and policies, including Health and Safety
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Able to pay close attention to detail
  • Work with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid Ontario Security License, as defined by the Private Security and Investigative Services Act.
  • Possess valid Smart Serve Certification
  • Able to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Excellent customer service, client relations, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in event-related role is an asset
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented
  • Must be physically fit to perform all essential duties/requirements associated with this job
  • Strong knowledge of Alcohol Control Policies in event-driven industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of Event Services and affiliated roles & responsibilities
  • Possession of valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset

Part-Time Facility Operator

Position:                            Part Time - Facility Operator

Rate of pay:                        Base rate is $20/hr start, $25.48/hour following probationary period, additional wage incentive for C.I.T. and B Ticket

Position Overview:

As a valuable member of the Operations team, you will deliver championship service throughout the organization. Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Operations Manager, you will be directly involved in the daily operations of the facility.

Job Functions:

  • Operate ice resurfacer to maintain a professional level of ice quality including daily assigned ice maintenance tasking
  • Assist with directing all part-time staff during shifts including the delegation of daily duties and event set ups
  • Understand and maintain records and logbook entries related to the refrigeration plant and other life safeties equipment
  • Climb stairs and be able to lift 50-75lbs unaided
  • Responsible for opening and closing the facility – including arming, disarming and security checks
  • Good knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Basic knowledge of building repairs/maintenance such as plumbing, drywall, picture installs, bulb changes, etc…
  • Comprehend and communicate clear instructions for all event and non-event set ups
  • Lead small crews setting up for events using folding chairs, staging, drapery, stacking chairs and tables of various shapes and sizes
  • Perform daily cleaning requirements and projects as assigned
  • Must be able to communicate safe and proper cleaning procedures to employees
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and facility users.
  • Must express a willingness to learn and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Handle multiple tasks at one time and meet strict deadlines
  • Possess superior interpersonal and communication skills in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including between the hours of 6am-3am, overnights, weekends and holidays.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or the Assistant Operations Manager

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, Arena Refrigeration systems and BAS controls
  • 2yr minimum experience operating an ice resurfacer and use of all ice equipment & tools
  • Basic computer knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word
  • TSSA Class B refrigeration certificate is desired
  • C.I.T Certification through the ORFA is an asset
  • Fork lift certification is an asset
  • First Aid & WHMIS trained
  • Any post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
