Event Details
The biggest game of the year returns to the Tribute Communities Centre as the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks take on the RMC Paladins in the third annual Carriage Cup on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Carriage Cup came from a collaboration with the Ontario Tech Student Union (OTSU) and pays homage to the innovative and entrepreneurial history of automobile manufacturing in Oshawa. The event has continued to grow throughout its first two years, with more than 1,700 fans in attendance for the game.
"We are very much looking forward to the third edition of the Carriage Cup this coming January," said Ridgebacks Head Coach, Curtis Hodgins. "The first two games have been a terrific experience for our players with the incredible atmosphere and energy in the Tribute Communities Centre that has made for some exciting hockey. We are looking to regain the Carriage Cup trophy once again this year and know the Ontario Tech community will be out in full force to support our team!"
"The Tribute Communities Centre has played host to two amazing Carriage Cups so far, and this year is shaping up to be the best year yet," said Ridgebacks Athletic Director, Audra Sherman. "Events like this not only showcase the incredible talent within our program but also showcase our school spirit and pride. It's a celebration of what it means to be a Ridgeback."
In 2006, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks were officially accepted into Ontario University Athletics unanimously, and Ontario Tech has been fostering high-performance student-athlete development ever since. The Ridgebacks honour more than 70 academic award winners every year and hold an average GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Tickets are available to purchase on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:00am:

- In person at the Ticket Office located inside Gate 1
*Tickets purchased online will be subject to a $4.00 order charge as well as fees for certain methods of delivery.
Guests 24 months of age and older, at the time of the event, are required to have a ticket for admission to this event. Infants under 24 months of age do not require a ticket so long as they sit in a ticket holder’s lap so long as they do not obstruct the view of others.
Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult when inside the Tribute Communities Centre.
On event days, tickets for that day’s event will become unavailable via online one hour prior to the scheduled start of the event. After this time, tickets will only be available for purchase in person at the Tribute Communities Centre Ticket Office or by phone.
Student Information
- Buses will be transporting students on a first-come, first-served basis from South Village Residence to the Tribute Communities Centre. The bus will return to South Village Residence, with a stop at 2200 North as well, following the game.
