20 YEARS. COUNTLESS MEMORIES. ONE INCREDIBLE ILLUSTRATION.

Oct 30 / 2026

Twenty years of unforgettable concerts, thrilling sporting events, family entertainment and behind-the-scenes memories have come together in a one-of-a-kind illustration as the Tribute Communities Centre prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary on November 3, 2026.

To commemorate the milestone, Oak View Group at the Tribute Communities Centre commissioned Oshawa-based artist Dani Crosby to create a colourful, intricately detailed poster celebrating the people, performances and experiences that have shaped the venue's history since opening as the General Motors Centre in 2006.

Inspired by the playful, discovery-filled style of a Where's Waldo? illustration, the commemorative artwork brings together approximately 137 illustrated figures, weaving two decades of entertainment into a vibrant collection of recognizable faces, memorable moments and hidden details.

To celebrate the anniversary, a limited number of free 12” x 18” commemorative posters will be available at the Tribute Communities Centre Ticket Office beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Posters will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Limit one poster per person, no exceptions.

“Over the past 20 years, the Tribute Communities Centre has become much more than a place to attend a concert or sporting event. It's where people have celebrated milestones, shared unforgettable experiences and created lasting memories,” said Andrew Nash, Oak View Group’s General Manager of the Tribute Communities Centre. “This artwork is a wonderful reflection of the people, events and moments that have shaped our history, and a fitting way to celebrate this milestone with our community.”

Originally envisioned with a minimum of 70 visual elements, the project evolved into one of the most densely detailed illustrations Crosby has ever created, bringing together an extraordinary collection of performers, athletes, memorable moments and hidden references.

Featuring memorable performances by artists such as KISS, Elton John, Selena Gomez, The Offspring and Lainey Wilson, alongside sporting events, family shows and larger-than-life entertainment, the poster captures the diversity of experiences that have brought audiences together in downtown Oshawa.

Beyond the recognizable performers and events, the illustration also celebrates the smaller stories that make the venue's history unique. Hidden throughout the artwork are references to a marriage proposal during an Arkells concert, a sound technician working in ice skates during the Our Lady Peace concert, and the employees and behind-the-scenes individuals who have helped bring events to life over the past two decades.

“I didn't want this poster to be something fans looked at once and moved on from. I wanted people to explore it and discover something new every time they looked at it,” said William Balfour, Oak View Group’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Marketing & Sales at the Tribute Communities Centre. “With 20 years of concerts, sporting events and entertainment to capture, we wanted to create a bit of organized chaos. We also invited our team to share their favourite memories, stories and inside jokes to make the artwork meaningful beyond the performers and events themselves. My hope is that fans recognize a special moment they shared with family or friends, or discover something about the venue they never knew.”

Working with an Oshawa-based artist was an important part of the project, reflecting the venue's connection to the community and its commitment to celebrating local creative talent. Crosby's distinctive illustrative style made her a natural fit, while the project gave her an opportunity to explore the people and experiences that have shaped the venue's history.

“Creating this project felt like getting front-row tickets to twenty years of entertainment,” said Dani Crosby. “This is a big story made of so many small stories, and I was excited about the whole thing. I hope people feel connected to the experiences depicted, to the people and to the memories that resonate with them. Most of all, I hope they have fun exploring it. I know I did.”

The project also holds a personal connection for Crosby, who has attended events at the venue with her son. Among the illustration's many hidden details, she included a particularly meaningful addition: herself and her son. It's the first time she’s incorporated such a personal representation into one of her commissioned pieces.

“I want him to be able to look at this piece and unlock those memories from his childhood in the future,” Crosby explained.

As the Tribute Communities Centre marks 20 years in Oshawa, the illustration serves as a tribute not only to the performers and athletes who have appeared within its walls, but also to the fans, employees and community members who have helped create its story.
